Due to exhaustion and dehydration, Lady Gaga collapsed and passed out before her show last night in West Lafayette, IN. Her doctor has urged her to take a few days off to rest. We wish her rest and a full recovery.
Her Atlantic City concert and the Hands Up for Marriage Equality Benefit will both be rescheduled. As soon as we have a firm date we will let you all know.
Lady Gaga has been one of the hardest working people in entertainment for the past two plus years. During this time her support and advocacy for LGBT people has been unwavering. We wish Lady Gaga all the best.
We will keep you informed and let you know the new date very soon.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (JANUARY 16th, 2010) – Out in AC, the lesbian, gay, bi-Sexual and transgender signature event brand of Harrah’s Entertainment in Atlantic City, NJ, will feature a “Hands Up for Marriage Equality” benefit on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Club Worship in the House of Blues at Showboat, hosted by LGBT advocate, Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga has been an outspoken supporter of LGBT equality, joining the call for full civil rights protections for LGBT people at the National Equality March in Washington, D.C. last October and declaring her opposition to all homophobia and sexism in the music industry.
In a statement today announcing the event Lady Gaga commented “ I am honored to be able to continue to raise awareness and money for this cause and these outstanding organizations. Organizations like these are in the trenches every day working on behalf of all of us whether you are LGBT or straight. Equal and full civil rights are supposed to be for all of us.”
In addition to the famed pop star, fans and supporters can take to the dance floor as DJ’s Micheal DeCero and Vito Fun will rock the decks at Club Worship. Doors open at 10pm, admission is a minimum donation of $20 at the door. There will be no advance ticket sales and you must be at least 21-years-old with valid identification.
Most importantly, one hundred percent of admission to this event will benefit Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality Pennsylvania, Garden State Equality, and The Power, four organizations whose mission is to advocate and empower the LGBT Community and Marriage Equality efforts in the Tri-State region and beyond.
For more information on this event and the organizations, please visit the following websites:
Equality Pennsylvania is the leading statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) advocacy and civil rights organization in Pennsylvania. Equality Pennsylvania’s mission is to achieve equality for LGBT Pennsylvanians through coalition-building, advocacy, education and policy reform.”We’re truly honored to be a part of this exciting event with such talented individuals dedicated to helping the LGBT community achieve full equality,” said Jake Kaskey, managing director of Equality Pennsylvania. “With everyone’s support, and the dedication of thousands of people across the Commonwealth, we will continue to lead the fight in Pennsylvania to protect and defend the rights of LGBT people.”
Garden State Equality is the largest advocacy organization in New Jersey, LGBT or otherwise. Since Garden State Equality’s founding in 2004, New Jersey has enacted 210 LGBT civil rights laws at the state, county and municipal levels. That’s more LGBT civil rights laws enacted in less time than in any other state, ever in American history. Garden State Equality made history in 2008 when it became the first statewide advocacy organization in America to be the subject of an Academy Award®-winning film.
Founded in 1990, the Empire State Pride Agenda is New York’s statewide civil rights organization committed to achieving full equality and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) New Yorkers and our families. The Pride Agenda fights for these objectives by: educating the public, elected officials and policymakers; building coalitions and mobilizing allies; and, organizing and empowering the LGBT community. “We are thrilled to be a part of this event,” said Empire State Pride Agenda Executive Director Alan van Capelle. “Lady Gaga has been a passionate, outspoken ally to LGBT people, and she’s a great example of how celebrities can use their popularity to help secure equal rights for millions of Americans. We also thank Harrah’s Entertainment, which is clearly setting the bar high in its industry by being a model employer for LGBT people and by taking a public stand in support of legislation that improves the lives of LGBT Americans.”
The Power is an online organizing network that empowers grassroots and netroots activists from every state in the country and from all over the world to fight for equal rights for LGBT people. Its aim is to unite the diverse factions of the LGBT movement around the goal of including LGBT people in federal civil rights laws, to inspire every individual committed to LGBT equality to find his or her political voice, to enable those individuals to express their voices in collective action with others through other groups and organizations, to empower the community with the same sophisticated tools employed by national campaigns and business, and to leverage this power to enact laws and promote policies at the federal, state, and local level, in government, business, and media, to achieve full equality. Since January of 2009, The Power has spearheaded a petition at www.ThePowerOnline.org to include LGBT people in the Civil Rights Act which has been signed by people in all 50 states and 36 countries.
The Power’s founder Jeffrey Campagna said “We are deeply grateful to Lady Gaga, and Out in AC for their support, and are proud to stand in solidarity with them and the other beneficiaries of this event in the fight for full equality for LGBT people.”
